HOW TO RAISE YOUR CHILDREN

Family members should always be your allies not your adversaries!

Proverbs 22 v 6
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

The overwhelming emphasis of this Scripture verse found in the Book of Proverbs is on verbal encouragement and teaching. In fact the whole book of Proverbs is framed as a father's words to his son, teaching him the "facts of life", that have nothing to do with biology. Again and again he pleads, "Listen, my son".

Mother's too have equally important words to say too. Please read chapter one and verse eight or chapter six and verse twenty of the same book.

The parent-child conversation is a warm one, and Proverbs 17:6 bears out what the whole book implies: Parents and children are not meant to be adversaries, but allies in life who are proud of each other.

THE GENERAL RULE IS THIS:
GOOD PARENTS RAISE GOOD CHILDREN!

"As parents, my prayer is we will not provoke, irritate, or fret our children. We will not be too hard on them or harass them or even cause them to become discouraged, evil, bad-tempered, or to feel inferior and frustrated. We will not break or wound their little spirits, but we will rear them tenderly in the training, discipline, counsel, and admonition of the LORD Jesus Christ. We will train them in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it!"

- AMEN & AMEN!!
