Holiness & righteousness

God is righteous and He wants us to live a holy life.

Exodus 15 v 11
11  “Who else among the gods is like you, O Lord?
Who is glorious in holiness like you—
so awesome in splendor,
performing such wonders? 

Exodus 28:36 
And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

Exodus 39: 30 
And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD. 31 And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the Lord commanded Moses.

Psalm 96 v 9
9  Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor.
Let all the earth tremble before him.

Hebrew 12 v14 
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

Romans 6 v 19-23 
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21  What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

2 Corinthians 7 v 1 
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Corinthians 5 v 20-21
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Proverbs 11 v 30
30  The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

St Matthew 5 v 6 
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Psalm 119 v 142  
Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

Deuteronomy 6 v 25 
And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.

Romans 10 v 4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Ephesians 4 v 23-24 
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
